“A portrait of our family, once a week, every week, in 2014”

This week we planted a garden in our backyard. We have been wanting to do a garden ever since we moved into this house. We are very lucky to have a backyard in sf, and even more lucky to have enough space to do a garden. Last week casey made these great raised beds, and this week with the help of some of our friends we tackled the weeds, the digging and the planting. We can only cross our fingers and hope that the kale, the arugula and all the root vegetables we planted will actually grow out here in this fog.

Here’s hoping.

M: she had to be in the middle of everything we were doing, she was the best helper. 

Hope: watering the tiny seeds, whispering (begging) them to grow grow grow.
